Predictions: Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the third installment in director Michael Bay's Transformers trilogy.  Transformers has always been one of my favorite franchises, but Bay has turned this world wide phenomenon into something with mixed reactions.
The first Transformers film is no doubt the best of the two films that have been released, and honestly, it's really not that bad.  Yeah there's a lot of explosions and probably too many of them along with really good special effects, but underneath all that, there is actually a decent storyline.  It's a prequel to all of the cartoon TV series about how the giant robots come to Earth in the first place.
The second movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had the potential to be even better than the first one, but it was just about the worst movie of 2009 (it only took me four viewings to realize just how bad it is).  What has made these two films worse than they could have been is all the changes that have been made.  It's common for Hollywood to make a movie based on a TV show, but this time, it's gone too far.  Too many changes means inconsistencies.
First of all, he's changed the name of one of my favorite transformers, Hot Shot is now named Bumble Bee.  This bothers anyone who's watched any of the Transformers cartoon series.  The new movies have taken away some of the other transformers (mostly decepticons) like Thrust.  Again, Megatron (my favorite of the decepticons) is a different craft.  In my favorite Transformers series, Armada, Megatron is a tank.  Why did they change him to be a fighter plane for these movies?  Also, in each series, there are three kids who go on every adventure with the autobots when they're fighting the decepticons.  In the movies, Sam is the main character and the only one who's actually following them on all the adventures.
So what do I think is going to be the story with Dark of the Moon?  I think we're going to something way too similar to Revenge of the Fallen.  A terrible storyline, one that involves only details and that should be made into a 30 minute show instead of a two and a half hour movie.  The special effects will be awesome as always, but this will be the most action packed of them all.  After all, this one's an invasion of Earth, not the huge build up to war we've seen before.  The trailers that are out now would suggest that this one will be the worst of them all.  Many people have told me that they won't see it because the second one was so bad.  With luck, Dark of the Moon won't be as disappointing as Revenge of the Fallen, but nothing leads me to believe otherwise.

The Hunger Games

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth Directed by: Gary Ross Screenplay by: Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins Based on the novel by Suzanne Collins      If reality television hasn't gone too far yet, then this show should definitely make it go too far.      In a futuristic nation called Panem, one boy and one girl are selected from each of the nation's twelve districts to represent them in an annual television event called the Hunger Games.  Of the 24 contestants, only one will survive in this televised fight to the death.      I like the concept of the story.  While this futuristic society seems somewhat simple, it does not seem all that well developed.  It is unknown how this society came into being, even though it is known how the Hunger Games began.      If this film were released last year, I would have hoped it would be nominated for best make-up.  Many of the characters ...

Django Unchained

Starring: Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson Directed by: Quentin Tarantino Screenplay by: Quentin Tarantino      I think it's safe to say that this film is the most badass film of 2012.  My only explanation; Quentin Tarantino!!!!      When someone asks what a Quentin Tarantino film is about, I first respond with "that's a good question".  But there is actually a real story behind all of his films, including Django Unchained.        Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) is a bounty hunter in the pre-Civil War South.  He's looking for a group of bandits known as the Brittle brothers.  He comes across a slave in a slave transport known as Django (the D is silent (Jamie Foxx)), who knows where to find the Brittle brothers.  But Django has a wife he wants to find (Kerry Washington).  She's a slave at a plantation owned by Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). ...
