Movie 43

Starring, Directed by, and Screenplays by a whole lot of different people

Let me begin by informing you that this is perhaps the WORST film I've ever seen.  It's supposed to be terrible but I don't know if it's supposed to be this bad.
Basically, Charlie Wessler (Dennis Quaid), has never made a movie in his life and he's got this crazy idea for a film that's really just a lot of short films put together with a few fake commercial breaks in the middle.  He's trying to pitch this ridiculously bad idea of a movie to the studio, and the whole movie is just these short films that he's though of.  Other than that, there's really no plot at all.
All of these short films are extremely weird, but quite funny.  I wonder what made all of these famous actors with great careers going for them decide to participate in a movie this bad.  The short plot lines in each short are sometimes completely ridiculous and there are many times when I thought I should just walk out of the theater because of how bad they were.  Here's an example of what I'm talking about:
One of the fake commercials in the movie that shows up a few times is for a product developed by Apple called the iBabe.  It's an iPod that comes in the form of a full size naked woman.  I ask you, what practicality does this serve in a film this bad?
If you're looking for complete mindless entertainment, this is still not the movie for you.  It's beyond mindless.  Yes, it's going to have you laughing hysterically for a while, but there are things that will make you simply wonder WTF????????  It will leave some lasting impressions on you.
A friend and I were talking a few years ago about another movie that I totally hated, and it was about a month after we saw it together, yet we were still talking about it.  He told me that the film is a success because a month later, we were still talking about it.  I think the same is going to go for Movie 43.  In a few months, I'll probably still be complaining about how completely horrible it is.
But for now, this is one of the few films I would actually tell people to stay away from.  I usually think of myself as a pretty lenient film reviewer, but this time, I have to be harsh.
I give Movie 43 an F- (if there even is such a grade as an F-).

The Hunger Games

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth Directed by: Gary Ross Screenplay by: Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins Based on the novel by Suzanne Collins      If reality television hasn't gone too far yet, then this show should definitely make it go too far.      In a futuristic nation called Panem, one boy and one girl are selected from each of the nation's twelve districts to represent them in an annual television event called the Hunger Games.  Of the 24 contestants, only one will survive in this televised fight to the death.      I like the concept of the story.  While this futuristic society seems somewhat simple, it does not seem all that well developed.  It is unknown how this society came into being, even though it is known how the Hunger Games began.      If this film were released last year, I would have hoped it would be nominated for best make-up.  Many of the characters ...

Django Unchained

Starring: Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson Directed by: Quentin Tarantino Screenplay by: Quentin Tarantino      I think it's safe to say that this film is the most badass film of 2012.  My only explanation; Quentin Tarantino!!!!      When someone asks what a Quentin Tarantino film is about, I first respond with "that's a good question".  But there is actually a real story behind all of his films, including Django Unchained.        Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) is a bounty hunter in the pre-Civil War South.  He's looking for a group of bandits known as the Brittle brothers.  He comes across a slave in a slave transport known as Django (the D is silent (Jamie Foxx)), who knows where to find the Brittle brothers.  But Django has a wife he wants to find (Kerry Washington).  She's a slave at a plantation owned by Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). ...
